Chewing gum that downed 111 pupils in Pangasinan, expired
The San Carlos City health office has issued a permanent ban on the brand of chewing gum that downed at least 100 pupils last July.
The city health office said that the 3D chewing gums consumed by 111 pupils from the Guelew Integrated School tested positive with molds.

A report in GMA News' Balitanghali said that the city council is already drafting an ordinance that would regulate the operation of stores near schools in San Carlos City.
The pupils were rushed to the hospital last July 2 after suffering from stomach pains and experiencing dizziness and vomiting after consuming the gum.
The children were discharged the next day.
Samples of the gums were brought to the Food and Drug Administration in San Fernando, La Union for analysis. —ALG, GMA News
