Soldier in CamSur bus hostage-taking to undergo inquest proceedings
The soldier who took hostage about 30 passengers of a Manila-bound bus in Camarines Sur is set to undergo inquest proceedings Saturday.
Possible complaints Corporal Rene Prajele might face include serious illegal detention and administrative charges, being a member of the Philippine Army, a report on "News TV Live" said.
Prajele allegedly asked the passengers to accompany him to Fort Bonifacio after he boarded the bus at about 11 a.m. in Pamplona town, the report said.
Authorities intercepted the bus in Barangay Comadaycaday in Del Gallego town, where a crisis management team was immediately formed to negotiate with Prajele, who surrendered after a five-hour negotiation, the report said.
Also, it said the suspect was having family problems and that, according to him, he feared someone was trying to kill him.
Prajele, who had served the military for 11 years, is from Barangay Agdangan in Baao town in Camarines Sur.
The passengers, according to the report, had already undergone stress debriefing. — Kathrina Alvarez/LBG, GMA News
