Jellyfish sting kills boy in Quezon province
An 11-year-old boy died Tuesday after being stung in the neck by a jellyfish while he was swimming near his home in Tagkawayan town in Quezon province.
Victim Angelo Las Piñas was swimming with kin and friends near the shore of Barangay Rizal when the stinging incident happened, GMA News correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.

Las Piñas' aunt said the boy was rushed to a hospital 15 minutes after the incident, but it was too late for doctors to save him.
The boy's father Allan, a fisherman for 30 years, said the area where his son was swimming is frequented by jellyfish from March to June.
After the tragedy, he said he would no longer allow his children to swim there.
Two years earlier, a 14-year-old child died after being stung by a jellyfish in the same barangay.
Dra. Sunshine Heraña of the Tagkawayan District Hospital advised those stung by a jellyfish to wash the affected part of the body not with water but with vinegar. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
