Army’s 7th ID ready to deploy to areas affected by Chedeng


The Philippine Army's 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division is prepared to immediately deploy personnel to areas that will be affected by Tropical Storm Chedeng, which is expected to affect Northern Luzon.
 
According to 7th ID spokesman Maj. Emmanuel Garcia, units will cover the following areas:
 
702nd Infantry Brigade: La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Tubo, Abra, 1st to 5th District of Pangasinan, and San Miguel, Sta. Maria, Asingan, Rosales, Tayug and Balingao towns in the 6th District.
 
703rd Infantry Brigade: Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya; Dinapigue in Isabela and the towns of San Nicolas, San Quintin, Natividad and Umingan in Pangasinan.
 
The Armed Forces of the Philippines has been on red alert since Wednesday in preparation for Tropical Storm Chedeng which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility as a super typhoon.
 
PAGASA has since downgraded Chedeng to a tropical storm. The storm is currently located at 365 km southeast of Casiguran, Aurora.
