5-year-old girl suffers fiery death in Tarlac City accident

A five-year-old girl met a fiery death after she was thrown off a tricycle-like vehicle and landed in a pile of burning bamboo in Tarlac City on Wednesday.

Judy David died from burns following the incident in Barangay Tibagan, GMA Dagupan's Alfie Tulagan reported on "Primera Balita" Thursday.

"Nagkataon yung sunog na yun, dadaan sila roon. E tinutulak yung tribike, ngayon siguro nahulog ang isang gulong. Napatapat sila sa apoy, doon sila nadale," her grandfather Fred Mendoza said.

The girl's grandfather appealed for assistance.

Also thrown off the tribike were Judy's three cousins, two of whom suffered burns. The two injured cousins were aged 6 and 3.

Paulo Mendoza, the victim's uncle, said they tried to save the girl but failed. "Nanigas na rito, hindi na humihinga. Tapos kami nataranta na kami. Hinuhugasan na namin ng tubig para mabuhat namin," he said.

Judy's mother was also injured while trying to rescue her daughter. She was rushed to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital along with the victim's two cousins.
