Floods cause power outage in Cebu town
Floods caused by Tropical Depression Queenie have cut off power and water supply to a town in Cebu province, the provincial government said Thursday afternoon.
In a post on its Facebook page, the provincial government said that as of 10:30 a.m., Santander town experienced heavy floods.
"A creek has overflown causing damage to the town's water system. No power and water supply in town," it said.
The provincial government also said fallen trees blocked the national road but the local government is conducting a clearing operation.
Cebu is one of the areas that felt the effects of bad weather conditions brought by Tropical Depression Queenie.
Earlier Thursday, the provincial government said a woman from Malabuyoc town was killed in the wake of bad weather from Queenie.
Meanwhile, the provincial government said Sulong-on Bridge in Dalaguete town was damaged and was closed down due to unstable condition.
River control dikes in town were damaged also, it added. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
