Dog accused of eating neighbor’s chickens hacked in the mouth

Is this a case of justice going to the dogs? Or for the birds?

A dog was hacked in the mouth in San Enrique town in Iloilo province – after it was accused of killing and eating its neighbor's chicken, GMA Iloilo's Fabienne Paredes reported.

The dog named Cooper was brought in from the city three weeks earlier, and was to be trained to guard the house of its master Linda Ponte.

Ponte noticed the hack on Cooper's mouth last Friday. Cooper is a combination of Japanese spitz and Rottweiler.

She said she confronted her neighbor about what happened to the dog.

"Sabi niya nangangain yung aso mo, parang aswang. Kinain niya yung manok ko. Sabi ko, saan yung kinain niya dahil babayaran ko. Wala naman siyang naituro sa akin," she said.

The neighbor, John Palencia, was out of the house when a news team went there to get his side. His sibling declined to be interviewed. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
