Phivolcs verifying lava flow at Mayon

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Sunday started checking information that lava flow may have occurred at restive Mayon Volcano.

A Phivolcs team is conducting an aerial inspection of the area, GMA News' Cedric Castillo tweeted.

Last September, the Phivolcs had raised the alert level at Mayon to "3," meaning an eruption is expected in weeks.
