LTFRB suspends 16 buses over deadly NLEX collision

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has suspended at least 16 buses of Victory Liner following a deadly bus-truck collision on North Luzon Expressway earlier this week.

A report on GMA News TV's "News TV Live" on Saturday afternoon said the suspended buses were plying the route between Sta. Cruz in Zambales and Pasay City in Metro Manila.

It said the 30-day suspension stemmed from the collision between a Victory Liner bus and a 14-wheeler truck along the NLEX in Mexico town in Pampanga province.

Killed in the incident was the bus conductor, while at least 22 passengers were injured.

With the suspension, the LTFRB is to confiscate the plates of the 16 buses on Monday, while the drivers of the affected buses are to undergo a road safety seminar.

A hearing has also been set for October 7, the report said. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
