Two schools in Iloilo devastated by super typhoon Yolanda have been rebuilt and turned over to the local government, a news release from non-government organization Assisi Development Foundation said.
The Malbog Elementary School and Gabaldon School in Estancia, Iloilo were officially turned over to the town government and the Department of Education last Friday.
The schools were reconstructed with the assistance of the Assisi Foundation, Tabang Visayas, United Architects of the Philippines Elliptical Chapter and architect Peach Buencamino.
In November of 2013, Yolanda ravaged the Central Philippines. At least six schools including the Malbog Elementary School and Gabaldon School in Iloilo were totally destroyed.
It also left thousands dead and caused billions of pesos in damage to infrastructure and agriculture. — Andrei Medina/JDS, GMA News
