Iloilo City govt investigates city hall sex scandal

The Iloilo City government has started an investigation into allegations that a male executive assistant of Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and a female city employee had sexual intercourse in one of the city hall's rooms.

According to a report on Iloilo news site The Daily Guardian, a police auxiliary saw the executive assistant and the city hall employee having sex in a "plywood room" in the city hall's third floor.

Mabilog said the city administrator would conduct the investigation, along with the city legal officer and human resources officer.

"If the person is found to be positive of the accusations his services will either end or will have to submit an irrevocable resignation. But if these accusations are found to be malicious I suggest that the person bring his accusers to court. Witnesses shall be treated with complete confidentiality," the mayor said in a post on his Facebook page.

Mabilog also asked witnesses to provide evidence "as we do not want to unjustly crucify a person because of unrequited love or political grudges."

The Daily Guardian report also said that mayor would meet with the two persons involved in the alleged sex scandal.

“If they still deny the allegation, then we will wait for the witness. But if they claim it, then the argument is over,” he said. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
