Bus falls off cliff in Sorsogon, 27 hurt

At least 27 people were injured after a bus plummeted off a cliff in Pilar town, Sorsogon, a report on GMA's “24-Oras” program said Saturday.

According to a passenger, the bus owned by Pamar Bus line was moving fast when it tried to avoid a jeep, which may have have caused the driver to lose control.



Meanwhile, the police said the bus first slammed into a concrete barrier and a tree before finally falling down the cliff.

The passengers are currently being treated in a nearby hospital while the driver, who was still in a state of shock, declined to be interviewed, the report said.

Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. — Andrei Medina/JDS, GMA News
