Cop shot dead in Zamboanga City

Police Region 9 office spokesman Senior Inspector Joseph Ortega identified the victim as SPO1 Mandu Abubakar Balahim, according to a report on Bombo Radyo.

 

The shooting occurred along the highway in Barangay Guiwan in Zamboanga City while Balahim was riding his motorcycle, the report said.

 

Balahim was instantly killed after sustaining six gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

 

Recovered from the scene were 10 shells from a cal-.45 pistol. Police are gathering leads on the identities of the attackers and the motive for the ambush. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
