Cop shot dead, another wounded in Palawan ambush
A policeman was shot dead while his companion was wounded while they were serving an arrest warrant on a wanted criminal in Palawan province Sunday, the provincial police said Monday.
Palawan police chief Senior Superintendent David Martinez said the two were ambushed as they passed by the suspect's house, RGMA's James Viernes reported on dzBB radio.
Martinez cited sketchy initial information reaching him identifying the fatality as PO3 Roniel Paduga, and the wounded as PO3 Ranie Abrero.
He said a third policeman, PO3 Zacarias Abayon, was safe.
Another suspect, identified as Boyet, is now being tracked down, an updated report on dzBB said Tuesday. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
