4 killed in Ilocos Norte shooting incident — police


At least four people were killed in a shooting incident in Ilocos Norte on Saturday evening, a police report said.

Senior Supt. Rerardo Ratuita of the Ilocos Norte Police District reported the attack on the victims happened at about 9:20 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Cruz Sur in Badoc.

At the time,  William Acoba, Micheal Rosete, Benny Rosete, Haia Mel Rosete, 11,  Ryen Jhon, 3, were on a  tricycle driven by Gerry Guzman, while Mark John Rosete was on a motorbike when they were shot at by armed suspects.

The police report said the victims were on their way home from boundary Gateway Badoc heading north when they were ambushed by the suspects.

Tricycle drive Guzman was hit in his chest, Acoba had gunshot wound in his back and Benny Rosete sustained gunshot wounds in the head, chest and leg.

The three were declared dead shortly after arrival at a hospital in Badoc.

Haia Mel Rosete and Mark John Rosete were transferred to a hospital in Batac City, but Haia Mel died while undergoing treatment.

All victims are residents of Barangay Sta. Cruz Sur, the police said.

Police are now investigating the motive and the perpetrators of the attack. — LBG, GMA News
