La Mesa Dam on red alert; floods make many roads impassable


La Mesa Dam in Quezon City was placed on red alert as of 3 a.m. Monday, with residents in the nearby areas having to evacuate.
 
The dam's water level was 79.61 cm above sea level, and was 54 cm away from overflow, GMA News reporter Bam Alegre said in a Twitter post.
 
"LA MESA DAM now on RED alert. Elevation: 79.61m above sea level; 54cm to overflow. Residents along Tullahan river must evacuate," Alegre reported.
 
Elsewhere in Metro Manila, floods remained in several areas including:

- Sucat SM City, waist-deep
- Brgy. Gumamela, QC, knee-deep
- Araneta Ave. Villa España Brgy. Tatalon, knee-deep
- España-Lacson, knee-deep
 
Floods at the corner of EDSA and Taft Rotonda intersection were knee-deep.
 
The University of Santo Tomas area was not passable to light vehicles, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
 
At the Skyway area, floods fronting Raya Garden were knee-deep.  — ELR, GMA News
