Downpour floods Davao City, PAGASA issues heavy rain advisory
Heavy rain caused floods in several parts of Davao City Wednesday night, the city government's disaster risk reduction and management council said. In a post on its Facebook page, the city government also noted a slight rise in the water level of the Davao River due to the rain. Among the flooded areas were: - Ecoland Phase 2, 4 and 7 - SM area and Quimpo Blvd. - R. Castillo - Bankerohan near Magsaysay Park - Marfori and Matina highway At 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a heavy rainfall advisory. PAGASA issued an orange alert for Davao del Norte, North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, and Lanao del Sur. "Heavy to intense rainfall were observed at Davao City for the past two hours. Expect moderate to heavy rains to at times intense rains over Davao Del Norte, North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon and Lanao Del Sur for the next three hours," it said.
