Ex-columnist Nixon Kua dies two days after being shot by robbers in Laguna


Tabloid columnist and former Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) head Nixon Kua died on Monday night, two days after being shot by robbers in Laguna province.  
According to a report on radio dzBB on Tuesday, the four suspects in the robbery-killing of Kua who are now in police custody are:
  • John Rey Cortez;
  • Noel Garcia; 
  • Michael Molino, and
  • Darwin Samiano.
 
Molino was taken into custody after his father turned him in, the report said.  
Calamba Police head Superintendent Leovigildo Manaig said Kua died at 10:35 p.m. on Monday at the Calamba Medical Center.
 
Kua and his brother Allyson were shot on Saturday night inside their house. Kua was shot in the face while his brother was wounded on his left shoulder. Allyson is already in stable condition. The robbers stole P90,000 from Kua's daughter.
 
Laguna police head Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz said the police are looking at a possible inside job angle because the robbers appeared to know the victims' routines. - VVP, GMA News
