Cebu Pacific nicks Zest Air plane on Palawan airport tarmac
A Cebu Pacific plane nicked a Zest Air plane on the tarmac of Puerto Princesa Airport in Palawan province late Tuesday, according to a radio dzBB report. The Zest Air plane was loading passengers when a nearby Cebu Pacific sideswiped its wings, breaking Zest Air’s “guide lights,” said James Viernes of RGMA Palawan in a report aired over dzBB. The incident happened at 6:30 p.m., according to the report. The Zest Air flight was cancelled, while Cebu Pacific is sending a technical crew to repair its aircraft. The Cebu Pacific plane bound for Manila is expected to depart from Puerto Princesa at 10:30 p.m. tonight. “CEB’s main priority is the re-accommodation of affected guests on 5J 640 (Puerto Princesa-Manila). It has already arranged for food and is arranging for an extra flight to accommodate the guests,” Cebu Pacific said in a statement Tuesday night. “CEB is still waiting for the full report as to what happened,” the statement read. No one was reported injured, according to dzBB, but other incoming and outgoing flights were delayed, Viernes added. —Rouchelle R. Dinglasan/VS/HS, GMA News
