Indian national shot dead in Bacolod, cops clueless
MANILA, Philippines â Police in the central city of Bacolod are now looking into the fatal shooting of an Indian national, an online news site reported Tuesday. Visayan Daily Star (www.visayandailystar.com) reported that Jagtur Singh, 41, was shot in the chest outside his house in Montevista village in Bacolod at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. But city police station 4 commander Sr. Insp. Danilo Francisco admitted they do not have much to go on as the area where the shooting occurred was dark. Francisco also said no witnesses had surfaced as of Monday. On the other hand, he said Singh's family had requested for privacy, and the victim's remains have already been cremated. In recent months, Indian nationals, particularly those involved in informal money lending, have been the target of hold-ups in Bacolod, police records showed. Police said that in several cases, they did not file charges against the suspects arrested for attacking them. - GMANews.TV
