Manila falls to 102nd in QS Best Student Cities 2027 rankings
Manila slipped out of the top 100 in the latest QS Best Student Cities Rankings, falling to 102nd place in the 2027 edition released by global higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
The Philippine capital ranked 88th in last year's edition, marking a 14-place drop.
Manila received an overall score of 60.1, earning its highest marks in affordability (83) and employer activity (64.4). However, it scored just 27.9 in the university rankings indicator.
Seoul retained the top spot in the 2027 rankings, which featured 150 cities, followed by Tokyo and London, underscoring the continued appeal of East Asian cities as study destinations.
The annual index evaluates cities based on factors that matter most to students, including the quality of local universities, student mix, desirability, employer activity, and affordability. —VBL, GMA News
