Atong Ang no longer in PH? PNP verifying reports
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is verifying reports that businessman Atong Ang has left the country.
“The last known place na pinuntahan niya is, matagal na yung, sa Pilipinas. If there were reports that he… fled already, leaving our country, we are verifying that, but the strongest possibility is he is here in the Philippines,” said PNP chief Police General Melencio Nartatez Jr. on Tuesday in Jun Veneracion's report on Balitanghali.
(The last known place he visited in the Philippines was a long time ago.)
Ang is facing charges in relation to the missing sabungeros case.
He is facing charges for kidnapping with homicide, as well as kidnapping and serious illegal detention before the courts of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Lipa, Batangas, and San Pablo, Laguna.

Ang has not been seen since January 2026.
Whistleblower Julie Patidongan, a former aide of Ang, believed that he had already left the country.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said in April that Ang was spotted in the Calabarzon area. According to Remulla, Ang has been moving to different hideouts every three to five days to evade arrest. —Jean Mangaluz/ VAL, GMA News
