FVR's support for Arroyo 'waning'
Former president Fidel Ramos on Saturday said his support for President Arroyo is "waning" for her lack of a clear roadmap for the country. Ramos said he and other personalities have been used by Mrs. Arroyo as "props" for her administration. Ramos said Mrs. Arroyo has been making the wrong moves that might weaken not only her administration but also the country's security and democratic institutions. He said Mrs. Arroyo belittled the 20th anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution, pressed for the scrapping of the 2007 elections to accelerate Charter change and even issued ââ¬Årepressive directives" like Proclamation 1017 that puts the country under a ââ¬Åstate of national emergency." "[My support] is waning because of a process entered into in regard with Charter change that led to a controversial report in the end because of [the no-elections issue]," Ramos said over a television interview. "That's why I said waningââ¬Â¦.It's waning, waning," Ramos said of his support for Mrs. Arroyoââ¬â¢s administration.
