Grade 9 student hit by truck in Mandaue City, Cebu

A Grade 9 male student died after he was hit by a truck in Mandaue City in Cebu. 

According to a report in “Saksi” on Wednesday, the victim was walking along a sidewalk when he suddenly sprinted towards the street corner, where the oncoming truck was making a right turn.

The truck hit the victim as the boy tried to squeeze himself in the very small gap between the truck and a wall.

The truck driver said he did not notice the boy prior to the mishap. The driver is now under the custody of the traffic police.
