Palace: DBM approves 1,200 new posts at PGH

The Department of Budget and Management has approved the creation of 1,200 new positions at the Philippine General Hospital, Malacañang announced on Tuesday.
At a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said this move would help strengthen the manpower of the public hospital, which will later provide more healthcare services to the general public.
'Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na makapagbigay ng mahusay at mahasang serbisyo, inaprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management ang dagdag na 1,200 na karagdagang posisyon sa Philippine General Hospital,'' Castro said.
(In line with the directive of President Marcos Jr. to provide better services, the Department of Budget and Management has approved the additional 1,200 positions in the PGH.)
''Ito ay bilang tugon sa kahilingan ng UP-PGH na palakasin ang organizational at manpower capacity ng hospital upang higit na makapagbigay ng dekalidad na healthcare services sa mga pasyente nito lalo na sa mga Pilipinong higit na nangangailangan,'' she added.
(This came following a request from the UP-PGH to improve the organizational and manpower capacity of the hospital to provide better healthcare services to patients, especially those who are in need.)
Last month, the PGH limited the number of patients that can be accommodated in its emergency room due to overcapacity.
The influx of patients in the ER also led to an insufficient supply of oxygen cords. –NB, GMA Integrated News
