LIST: Celebrities running for local positions in 2025 polls

The campaign period for local positions began last March 28 and will last until May 10, 2025.
During this time, the public will again encounter familiar faces they usually see on television or movies go to their places, shake their hands, and even strike a short conversation.
Here are some of the former and current celebrities eyeing a seat in their respective localities in the 2025 midterm elections.
CENTRAL LUZON
Aljur Abrenica and JC Parker Aguas are running for councilor in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The other candidates are Cheng Bangayan, Kap Niknok Bañola, Doc Mich Bonifacio, Amung Cris Cadiang, Kap Chris Cortez, Patrick Propesor Cura, Atty. Jeselle Dayrit, Raco del Rosario, Alex Indiongco, Doc Pie Juan, Doc Madlangbayan, Tony Mamac, Marang Morales, Angel Munar, Lab Nacu, Edu Pamintuan, Ron Pineda, Don Quito, Philip Cesar Samson, Alfredo Sangil, Jan Sangil, Atty. Pogs Suller, Kabayan Nong Tamayo, Rhoda Timaio, and Marvin Tropa.
Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Daniel Fernando is seeking reelection as Bulacan governor.
Challenging him are Melissa Aquino, Climate de Guzman, Jay Ocampo, Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, and Bogs Violago.
METRO MANILA
Miss Universe Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup and actress Ara Mina vie for council seats in the 1st and 2nd district, respectively, of Pasig City.
Meanwhile, “Pulang Araw” actress Angelu De Leon and former “Survivor” castaway Kiko Rustia are seeking reelection as District 2 and District 1 councilors in Pasig City.
The other candidates for the 1st District are Ron Angeles, Rex Balderrama, Ram Alan Cruz, Volta Delos Santos, Kuya Jess Gaviola, Konsi Eric Gonzales, JP Pascual, Kap Richie Pua, Atty Tantan Reyes, Kap Jr Samson, Pao Santiago, Coach Paul Senogat, and Simon Romulo Tantoco.
Also vying for council seats in 2nd District are Noel Agustin, Mer Añon, Syvel Asilo, JRB Balingit, Junjun Concepcion, Steve de Asis, Kaye dela Cruz, Usec Ryan Enriquez, Ed Gavino, Bobby Hapin, Warren Inocencio, Maro Martires, Boyie Raymundo, and Willy Sityar.
Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is running for mayor in Manila in the 2025 polls.
He was Manila’s mayor from 2019 to 2022. Instead of seeking reelection in 2022, Domagoso ran for president but lost to now President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Domagoso’s son, Sparkle artist Joaquin Domagoso, is seeking a council seat in the 1st District of Manila.
TV host and incumbent party-list representative Sam Verzosa is also running for the mayoral position in Manila.
Actor Raymond Bagatsing is also running for mayor of Manila.
The other candidates for mayor are incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna, Jerry Garcia, Alvin Karingal, Jopoy Ocampo, Enrico Reyes, Michael Say, Mahra Tamondong, and Ervin Tan.
Vlogger Margaux "Mocha" Uson and former basketball player Bong Alvarez are running for councilors in the 3rd district of Manila while actor Wendell Ramos is seeking a council seat in the 4th district.
Vying for council seats in the 3rd District are Karen Alibarbar, Maile Atienza, Henrick Cigres, Antonio Cua Lee, Nomer David, Eleazar de Pereira, Rollin J Dela Cruz, Pamela Fugoso, Albert Alvin Ang, Jong Isip, Joey Jamisola, Rodelito Jurilla, Kap Jeff Lau, Chris Tagle, Nelson Ty, Tol Zarcal.
The other candidates for councilor in the 4th District are Rom Acio, Kuya Dok Almiron, Roy Bacani, DJ Bagatsing, Romeo Bagay, Freddie Bucad, Anton Capistrano, Eunice Castro, Edwin Cayetano, Reymon Cortez, Carlo dela Cruz, Clark Ferrer, Christian Floreindo, Kagcong Gabriel, Gerardo Gamez, Mojtaba Habibi, Andrew Lopez, Ricardo Mariño, Bong Marzan, Dianne Nieto, Ryan Ponce, Bimbo Eduardo Quintos, Lady Quintos, Francisco Ramos, Science Reyes, Jerrick Rotap, Philip Jerico Sy, Al Tan, Napoleon Tenay, and Rino Tolentino.
Meanwhile, actor-politician Lou Veloso is seeking another term as Manila 6th District councilor.
The other candidates are Fog Abante, Romualdo Billanes, Caloy Volt Castañeda, Raffy Jimenez Crespo, Philip Lacuna, James Lagasca, Kap Lito Linis, Kid Marasigan, Doc Mercado Mercado, Doc Francis Olaso, Joel Elmer Par, Emilet Quirante, Martin Romualdez, Edwin Salve, Christian Joey Uy, Michael Valderama, and Fernando Vergel.
Former actress Abby Viduya, also known as Priscilla Almeda, is running as Parañaque 1st District councilor.
Her husband, former actor Jomari Yllana is the outgoing councilor of the 1st district of Parañaque.
The other candidates for 1st District councilor are Daniel Baes, Coach Ron Catunao, Joey delos Santos, Julius Disamburun, Ariel Fernandez, Dra. Raquel Gabriel, Pablo Rina Gabriel, Guada Golez, Brillante Inciong, Boy Lagman, Yoej Marquez, Christian Eric Martinez, Pablo Paolo Olivarez, Shannin Olivarez, Tupe Rivera, Smiling Santos, Nava Allen Tan, and Doc Tootz Vasquez.
Marquez is a child of actor and former Parañaque mayor Joey Marquez and actress Alma Moreno.
In Caloocan, Marjorie Barretto is running for 1st District councilor.
The other candidates are Topet Adalem, Leah Bacolod, Mickey Bunag, Alex Caralde, Tyrone de Leon Sr., Roman Domasig Jr., Mining Faustino, Vince Hernandez, Angie Leonardo, Buddy Lipata, Enteng Malapitan, Ricardo Margallo, George Miran, Kaye Nubla, Edsan Pineda, Jericho Sy, Patricio Tapiengco, and Anser Tomas.
Aiko Melendez and Alfred Vargas are seeking reelection as councilors in the 5th district of Quezon City.
Actor Enzo Pineda is also a candidate for councilor for Quezon City's fifth district.
Others vying for council seats are Karl Castelo, Kuya J Gadong, Shay Liban, Ram Medalla, Angel Ortigas, Jonel Quebal, Arpee Sabe, and Joseph Visaya.
Meanwhile, Arjo Atayde is seeking re-election as Quezon City's 1st District Representative. He will be facing former representative Bingbong Crisologo.
In Malabon City, actress Angelika Dela Cruz is running for vice mayor. The other candidates are Dado Cunanan, Jap Garcia, and Edward Nolasco.
CALABARZON
Jolo Revilla is seeking reelection as 1st District Representative of Cavite. He is the son of Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado, also seeking reelection and running unopposed, and Senator Bong Revilla, who is also vying for another term in the Senate.
Jolo will be facing Doc Paul Abaya.
Meanwhile, comedian Cai Cortez is running for councilor in Taytay, Rizal.
The other candidates are Patrick Alcantara, Millet Anghag, Nora Baccay, Helen Berbaño, Mitch Bermundo, Otilia Bonillo, Archie Calderon, Joan Calderon, Tegan Cayton, Gino Celerian, Gerald Cruz, Tobit Cruz, Rhoniel de Leon, Erwin Diego, Tak Faeldon Diño, Kiko Esguerra, Ranilo Florendo, Gerick Francisco, Manet Gonzaga, Bonggit Jurado, Kuya Col. Jun Laguna, Ma. Elaine Leonardo, Allyson Lopez, Arky Manning, Ninay Mercado, Victoria Palenzuela, Franchesca Persia, Ma. Teresa Santos, Mike Sorela, Rulf Marius Valera, and Eljun Victor,
Former actor Anjo Yllana is running for a vice mayoral position in Calamba, Laguna. He is teaming up with former mayor Timmy Chipeco.
Yllana, who served as vice mayor and councilor of Parañaque City, will be facing Totie Lazaro.
Actor and businessman Emilio Garcia is also seeking the mayoral position in Bay, Laguna. The other candidates are Joe Padrid, Edwin Ramos, and John Paul Villegas.
Beauty queen turned politician Leren Bautista is seeking reelection as a Los Baños councilor.
The other candidates are Gabriel Africa, Benny Alborida, EJ Justice Alcantara, Myla Alinsunurin, Arnel Bandian, Joy Bas, Rowena Bjorklund, Jerico Ciceron, Mike Dexter Concio, Rand de Jesus, Marjorie Deada, Amboy Dizon, Mec Dizon, Arlene Domingo, Bernard Escobin, Feliciano Escobin, Jian Carlo Eusebio, Jojo Francisco, AJ Isla, Janos Lapiz, Ervim Malabanan, Esbby Maningas, Mark Millar, Jerwin Moliñawe, Sir Jun Montemayor, Relly Palis, Arnel Pangga, Miko Pelegrina, Aldous Perez, Emj Ramos, Jay Rolusta, Aleli Teresa San Agustin, Norvin Tamisin, Asis Torres, Kap Jeck Vargas, and Ronilo Yadao Jr.
Veteran actress Vilma Santos-Recto is running for governor in Batangas, a post she held from 2007 to 2016. She will be facing Jay Manalo Ilagan, Walter Ozaeta, and Mike Rivera.
Her eldest son, actor-television host Luis Manzano, will be her running mate. He will be facing incumbent Governor Dodo Mandanas and Ryanh Dolor.
Meanwhile, the actress’ youngest son, Ryan Christian Recto, is running for a representative position in the 6th District of Batangas. He will be facing RGL Lacorte, Atty Mar Panganiban, and Bernadette Sabili.
BICOL REGION
Actor-model Marco Gumabao is running for a representative position in the 4th District of Camarines Sur. He will be facing incumbent Representative Arnulf Bryan Fuentebella.
EASTERN VISAYAS
Incumbent Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez is seeking reelection while her husband, Richard Gomez, is vying for another term as representative of the 4th District of Leyte.
Torres Gomez will be facing Violy Codilla.
Election day will be on May 12, 2025.
A total of 18,280 elective posts will be up for grabs for the 2025 midterm election.
Data earlier gathered by GMA Integrated News Research showed that 91 celebrities and social media personalities filed certificates of candidacy for the national and local posts.
