Japan wants more talks with PH on renewable energy sources

The Japanese government is pushing to have more discussions with the Philippines on renewable energy sources.
In a press release issued Monday, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya said Tokyo wants to engage more with Manila about energy cooperation as well as the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiative.
“Our countries share the same commitment to renewable energy development, and we look forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration with the Philippines,” Kazuya said.
"Japan has long been a leader in renewable energy innovation, particularly in solar, wind, and hydrogen technology. By working together, we can support the Philippines' transition to cleaner energy sources, enhance energy security, and contribute to global sustainability efforts," he added.
To recall, Kazuya paid a courtesy call to Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla last month, and they tackled heightened collaboration between the countries concerning the energy sector.
The Philippines and Japan are both on their transition to clean energy.
