Ex-senatorial aspirant Willie Ong expresses support to Bam Aquino

Former senatorial aspirant Willie Ong endorsed Monday Bam Aquino’s comeback bid for senator in the upcoming May 12 midterm elections.

“Sinusuportahan ko ang kandidatura ni Senator Bam Aquino dahil sa kaniyang adbokasiya para sa libreng edukasyon,” said Ong in a statement.

(I support the candidacy of Senator Bam Aquino because of his advocacy for free education.)

Ong made the statement after he was visited by Aquino and his wife Timi in his office in Pasay City.

“Taos sa puso ko ang habambuhay na misyon ko na maging doktor para sa lahat ng Pilipino, at ganoon din si Senator Bam Aquino sa pagiging senador para sa lahat ng Pilipino,” the cardiologist and social media personality added.

(I am sincere in my lifelong mission to be a doctor for all Filipinos, and so is Senator Bam Aquino in being a senator for all Filipinos.)

To recall, Ong withdrew from the senatorial race last February to focus on his health following a cancer diagnosis. 

Aquino then wished him well: “It is with deep respect that I acknowledge the difficult decision of Doc Willie Ong to withdraw his candidacy for the Senate so he can focus on his health recovery. Maraming salamat, Doc Willie, sa iyong malasakit at pagmamahal sa bayan (Thank you for your concern and love for the country.)
