VP Sara underscores unity, sharing of blessings on Eid'l Fitr

In celebration of this year’s Eid’l Fitr, Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday underscored the importance of unity and sharing of blessings with the family and those in need.

In a video message, the Vice President wished the Muslim brothers and sisters peace in their hearts, light to their spirit, and eternal happiness to their homes.

(This important day is not only a reminder of the goodness of Allah, but also of the important teachings of the holy Qur'an—unity and sharing of blessings with the family and most importantly, to those in need.)

(May your prayers be answered, your sacrifices rewarded, and your life blessed with love and prosperity. May Allah continue to guide us on the path of goodness and unity.)

Eid'l Fitr, or the Feast of Breaking the Fast, is the Muslim holiday that ends the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) said Sunday that the Islamic festival would fall on March 31, 2025. This came after the crescent moon was sighted by several groups organized by the Bangsamoro Government, PAGASA, and others, and confirmed by authorities including the Bangsamoro Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulrauf Guialani.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos earlier declared April 1, 2025 as a regular holiday throughout the country to mark Eid'l Fitr.

Some areas also declared March 31 a non-working holiday and suspended classes following the NCMF’s announcement.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
