Thousands gather at Rizal Park on Eid'l Fitr —MPD

Around 10,000 people trooped to Rizal Park in Manila in observance of Eid’l Fitr on Monday morning, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
In an update, the MPD said the program at Rizal Park started around 6:45 a.m.
So far, the activity has been peaceful, according to the MPD.
Some police personnel were deployed in the area for the security and safety of the gathering, it added.

Meanwhile, in Davao City, Muslims converged on Roxas Avenue for Eid'l Fitr, according to GMA Regional TV One Mindanao.
Eid'l Fitr, or the Feast of Breaking the Fast, is the Muslim holiday that ends the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos on Sunday announced that the celebration of Eid’l Fitr will start on Monday, March 31, 2025, after the sighting of the crescent moon.
In light of Eid’l Fitr, BARMM announced March 31 will be a regular non-working holiday across the region to commemorate the occasion.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier declared April 1, 2025 as a regular holiday throughout the country to mark Eid'l Fitr.
