PNP: 11 validated election-related incidents as of March 28

There have been 11 validated election-related incidents since the national and local campaign period started, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday.
“As of March 28, nakapagtala na tayo ng 39 na suspected na election-related incidents," PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo told Super Radyo DzBB.
"Out of the 39, 11 diyan ang validated na election-related incidents, 23 validated na walang kinalaman sa eleksyon,” she added.
(As of March 28, we have recorded 39 suspected election-related incidents, of which 11 are validated election-related incidents while 23 are unrelated to the 2025 polls.)
Of the 11 validated election-related incidents, Fajardo said five are undergoing preliminary investigation while the other six are undergoing case build-up.
The police officials also said some suspects are at large while some are incumbent government officials and poll candidates, but she did not give any further details.
She also noted that five cases are still classified as suspected election-related incidents since they are still under investigation.
Under Comelec Resolution No. 11086, the campaign period for national candidates is from February 11 to May 10 while the campaign period for local positions is from March 28 until May 10, 2025.
“Mas mainit ang eleksyon sa lokal kaya patuloy tayong magbabantay para hindi na madagdagan ang mga validated election-related incidents,” Fajardo said.
(Local elections are more heated, so we will continue to be vigilant so that election-related incidents will not increase further.).
The PNP earlier said the first day of the local campaign period for the 2025 polls was generally peaceful with no major incidents nationwide. —RF, GMA Integrated News
