4 admin Senate bets get Gwen Garcia backing in Cebu

Four administration senatorial candidates got the support of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia as she kicked off her local campaign in the vote-rich province.

Garcia raised the hands of senatorial bets— former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and former Senator Manny Pacquiao— during her ticket’s proclamation rally. 

According to the statement released by Abalos, Garcia also endorsed reelectionist Senators Francis Tolentino and Bong Revilla.

Tolentino was not present during the campaign event, while Revilla was represented by Cebuana actress Beauty Gonzalez who wore his campaign shirt.

Abalos thanked Garcia for her endorsement and lauded Cebu’s contribution to the economy.

“Kaya taus-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa buong team ng One Cebu, sa pangunguna ng ating napakagaling na Governor Gwen Garcia,” Abalos said.

“Cebu is one of the most progressive provinces in the whole country. It is an economic driver in all aspects of performance parating andiyan po ang Cebu,” he added.

In return, Abalos lauded Garcia’s leadership and endorsed her for the gubernatorial post.

“Kaya ang masasabi ko lang, sana may continuity of leadership. Because it speaks for itself. The government speaks for itself. Kaya dapat ituloy ang leadership at ihalal muli si Gov. Gwen at ang buong One Cebu,” he said. –Hana Bordey/NB, GMA Integrated News
