Makabayan kicks off campaign for local candidates in NCR, Bulacan

The Makabayan Coalition kicked off on Friday the campaign caravan of its local candidates in parts of the National Capital Region and Bulacan.
In Quezon City, Lorevie Caalaman, who is running as District 4 councilor, was joined by senatorial candidates Jerome Adonis and France Castro, Bayan Muna second nominee Carlos Zarate, Bayan Muna president Satur Ocampo, and Kabataan partylist Representative Raoul Manuel. They visited homes where they campaigned for raising the minimum wage and lowering the prices of basic goods.
Senatorial bet Mimi Doringo also accompanied Marikina District 2 councilor candidate Rene Mira in campaigning.
Makabayan also began its local campaign in Las Piñas City with District 1 councilor aspirants Jinsei Castillo and Pearl Tolentino. They were joined by senatorial bet Liza Maza who called out the political dynasty in the city.
“Isulong natin ang pulitika ng pagbabago para sa mga repormang totoong magsisilbi sa taumbayan,” said Maza in a statement.
(Let’s push for politics for change that will lead to reforms that will serve the public.)
In Taguig City, District 1 councilor candidate Girlie Delos Santos and senatorial aspirant Mody Floranda highlighted housing security and jeepney drivers’ and operators’ rights in their campaign.
The local campaign also began in Muntinlupa City with District 1 councilor aspirants Eli Anaya and Myrna Dela Concepcion, and senatorial bet Ronnel Arambulo.
Outside Metro Manila, Danilo Ramos joined Makabayan’s local candidates in Malolos, Bulacan where they pushed for genuine agrarian reform. –NB/VBL, GMA Integrated News
