Palace on absence of some Alyansa bets: Let them be
Malacanang said it has no control over the administration senatorial candidates' decisions on their attendance at campaign sorties.
''Hindi po natin saklaw ang kanilang damdamin (Their feelings are beyond us)," Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said when asked for a reaction on the absence of some administration's candidates during the Tacloban City rally of the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas last week.
''Kung nalungkot po sila, hindi po natin saklaw ang kanilang damdamin. Isipin na lamang po nila, malapit na po ang eleksiyon, ito ba ay makakaapekto sa mga boto ng tao. Hindi ko po alam kung namamangka sila sa dalawang ilog at hayaan na lamang po nila—hayaan na lang po natin ang kanilang mga damdamin na ganiyan,'' Castro said.
(If they are sad, their feelings are beyond us. They must think that the election is already near, they should think if this will affect the votes of the voters. I don't know if they're paddling on two rivers. Let's just let them me.)
Senators Imee Marcos and Pia Cayetano as well as Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar did not attend the campaign sortie last Friday in Tacloban City. Marcos, for her part, said she did not attend the event as she could not accept the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte over crimes against humanity charges.GMA News Online is trying to reach Cayetano and Villar to know the reason for their absence during Castro said.
the recent Alyansa sortie.
Castro, however, said President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. does not believe that the recent happenings will affect the campaign of the Alyansa slate.
''Sa tingin po ng Pangulo, hindi makakaapekto; hindi ko lang po alam individually kung makakaapekto,''
(For the President, it won't affect the campaign; I just don't know how it will affect them individually.) —LDF, GMA Integrated News
