VP Sara says Duterte camp looking to postpone 1st ICC appearance

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands - Vice President Sara Duterte said Friday she had launched a last-minute bid to delay her father's initial appearance at the International Criminal Court (ICC), where he faces a charge of crimes against humanity.
"We are praying and hoping that the court will grant our request to move the initial appearance just so that we can properly sit down with the former president and discuss the legal strategies since we haven't talked to him yet," Duterte told AFP outside the court.
Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday bared the legal team of former President Rodrigo Duterte who's facing charges for crimes against humanity in connection with the killings under his administration's war on drugs.
Roque said Duterte's lawyers will include himself, former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, and a member of the British Bar, a certain Attorney Kaufman whom he said is another listed ICC counsel.
"Sa ngayon ay iisa pa lang ang na-recognize na lawyer, si Attorney Medialdea dahil siya nga yung kasama. Pero we have filled up all the documents para mapasama din ako sa team of counsels," Roque told reporters. — Agence France-Presse
