SC releases notice denying immediate TRO vs. Duterte's arrest

The Supreme Court (SC) released Friday a copy of its notice denying the immediate temporary restraining order (TRO) on the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte over charges of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

On March 12, the SC denied the request for an immediate TRO by Duterte and Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, which is part of their petition seeking to prohibit government agencies from cooperating with the ICC and its investigation of the war on drugs.

The petition was filed on the day that Duterte was arrested on a warrant from the ICC and upon the request from the Interpol.

Duterte is now in custody of the ICC in the Hague, Netherlands to face the charges filed against him in connection with his controversial drug war. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
