VP Sara posts red ribbon as Facebook profile after Duterte arrest

Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday afternoon changed her profile and cover photos on Facebook, calling for the return of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to the Philippines after getting arrested on allegations of crimes against humanity. 

The Vice President’s new profile picture and cover photo feature a red ribbon with the words “BRING PRRD HOME.” 

Sara Duterte is currently on her way to the Netherlands, where Rodrigo Duterte will be brought to answer to the International Criminal Court (ICC). She departed Manila past 8 a.m. on Wednesday via Emirates flight no. EK 337, bound for Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, the Duterte patriarch is also currently en route to Rotterdam The Hague Airport, after nearly eight hours of layover in Dubai airport.

The plane carrying him arrived in Dubai at 4:03 a.m. (Dubai time) on Wednesday, nine hours after it left the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, Philippines on Tuesday at 11:03 p.m.

The Vice President’s siblings, Veronica "Kitty" Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sebastian ''Baste'' Duterte, on Wednesday also sought the help from the Supreme Court to bring their father back to the Philippines. 

In separate petitions for writ of habeas corpus, Kitty and Baste asked the high court to order the authorities to present the former president before the high court.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
