Marcos wants thorough probe over alleged 'tanim-bala' scheme in NAIA

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged ''tanim-bala'' incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Malacañang said on Monday.
At a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said that this scheme should not happen again.
''Yes, hindi po maganda kung ito man po ay mauulit. So, ito po talaga ay paiimbestigahan ng Pangulo at sa tulong na rin po ni DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, paimbestigahan po ito at kung ito ay may katotohanan, maaari po na ang nagsagawa nito ay maaaring matanggal sa kanyang trabaho,'' Castro said.
(Yes, it's not good if this will happen again. So, the President wants this to be investigated and through the help of DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, this will be probed and if proven that this was true, those involved can lose their jobs.)
''So, dapat po, lahat ng, lalung-lalo na po kung mga turista po o mga kapwa Filipino natin ang magiging biktima ng ganito, hindi po ito papayagan ng Pangulo, so may kailangan pong managot, kung mayroong dapat managot after thorough investigation,'' she added.
(So, if the tourists and our fellow Filipinos will be victimized by this, the President will not allow this so those involved should be held liable after a thorough investigation.)
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said three personnel of the Office of Transportation Security allegedly involved in the recent “tanim-bala” incident were already fired.
The termination of the employees came after a 69-year old woman set to travel to Vietnam with her family accused NAIA security personnel of “tanim bala” or bullet planting just as about they were about to board their flight on March 6.
In a social media post that has gone viral, 69-year old Ruth Adel said she and her family almost missed their flight after NAIA security claimed they have an x-ray image of an “anting-anting” or amulet in the form of a bullet casing inside their luggage.
However, a physical inspection of the said bag did not find any bullet casing.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
