Abdulraof Macacua appointed new BARMM interim chief minister
Maguindanao del Norte OIC Governor Abdulraof Macacua has been appointed the new interim chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed Macacua’s appointment to GMA News Online.
A member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) since 2019, Macacua was one of the commissioners of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission under the Office of the President-Bangsamoro Transition.
Macacua chaired two statutory committees in the BTA, such as the Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Energy, and Committee on Public Works.
He also chaired the cluster cabinet committee assigned to draft the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, known as the Cabinet Committee on Electoral Code.
He was a senior leader of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and served as the Chief of Staff of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces of MILF. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
