Willie Revillame wants internet access for students in the provinces

Several senatorial candidate continue with their campaign on social media and in some parts of the country on Wednesday.

During his livestream, television personality Willie Revillame said he would work on a measure that would address the proliferation of fake news.

“Basta may fake news kang ginawa at na prove na fake news, dapat meron kang kalalagyan. Dapat may puuntahan ka at mananagot ka. Paninira sa kapawa yan eh,” Revillame said.

(If you're proven to have spread fake news, you should be held accountable. That’s defamation.)

He also said he would distribute tablets and provide internet access to students in the provinces for their education.

“Ibibigay ko na lang yun (tablet) pag pinalad lalong lao na sa mga provinsiya. Hihingi ako ng mga tablet para makapag research kayo at sa mga bata, nakakapagreview,” Revillame said.

(I will distribute tablets especially in the province so that you can research and children could study.)

“Pag ako nag wagi, yung mga eskwelahan na walang wifi, yun ang iwoworkout natin sa mga telco (If I win, I will work on with telco companies on providing schools with no wifi),” he added.

On his social media page, senatorial candidate Gringo Honasan sent his greeting to the Muslim community observing Ramadan.

“Ramadan is a time of faith, reflection, and sacrifice. A time to strengthen our relationship with Allah, our families, and our communities,” Honasan said.

“It is also a powerful reminder of the values we all share —compassion, unity, and resilience,” he added.

Honasa also urged Filipinos to engage in “respect and solidarity” through understanding and inclusion.

“Together, we can build a nation where faith, peace, and brotherhood guide us forward. Once again, Ramadan Mubarak! May this sacred time bring prosperity, wisdom, and unity to all,” Honasan said.

The month of Ramadan began on Sunday. It is the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, and offer prayers in line with the teachings of Islam.

Meanwhile, broadcaster Ben Tulfo met with tricycle drivers during his campaign in Apalit, Pampanga.

“Karamihan ng tricycle driver sa iba’t ibang probinsya, lumalapit sa amin kaya alam ko ang problema niyo. Minsan hati-hati, naiintindihan ko yun. Kung naintindihan mo ang problema dapat may kaakibat na solusyon. Meron kaming aksyon diyan. Meron kang tatakbuhan,” Tulfo said.

(Most of the tricycle drivers in different provinces, approach us, so I know their problems. I understand even if it varies. If you understand the problem, there should be a solution. We have that. You have someone you can rely on.)

“Iba, tatlo kaming mga Tulfo, nag iisa ang Bitag. Pag nakita niyo, ilalaban ka, ‘di ka iiwan. ‘Di yan slogan. ‘Yan ay talagang binigkas damin dahil ginawa na namin,” he added.

(We are three Tulfos, but there’s only one Bitag, who will fight for you and not leave you alone. It’s not just a slogan. We are saying that because we have done it.)

Tulfo’s brother Erwin is also running for senator in the 2025 polls, while their other brother, Raffy, is a current senator of the 19th Congress. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
