Over 53 million ballots for Eleksyon 2025 printed — Comelec

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has finished printing more than 53 million official ballots for Eleksyon 2025, poll chairperson George Erwin Garcia said Monday.
Based on data shared to reporters, the poll body printed a total of 53,894,129 ballots or 76.58% of the 72 million requirement as of March 3, 2025. A total of 16,338,956 ballots remain to be printed.
It can be recalled the Comelec resumed the printing of the official ballots on January 27, weeks after it was suspended after the Supreme Court (SC) issued temporary restraining orders against the disqualification of some aspirants.
Garcia previously said they are targeting to print 1.5 million ballots daily to make up for the shortened timeframe for the production of official ballots. He also expressed confidence they will be able to complete the printing process by April 14, 2025.
However, the poll body chief said the printing increased to 1.7 million ballots per day and the Comelec is eyeing to complete the printing process by March and the ballot verification by April.
“Ang ating pong pag-print ng balota, more or less, March, tapos [na] kami. Mga second week going to the third week of March. The most, March 19, tapos kami sa printing, basta magtuloy-tuloy ang performance ng anim na makina,” Garcia said.
(More or less, we will be done with ballot printing by March. The latest date would be March 19, as long as the performance of the six machines continue.)
In January, the Comelec deputized the National Printing Office (NPO), allowing the use of the four printing machines of the NPO and the two machines procured by South Korean firm Miru Systems Inc., to ensure the “proper, satisfactory, and timely” completion of the reprinting of the official ballots for the May polls.
Earlier in the day, the Quezon City government announced the Amoranto Sports Complex will be temporarily closed from March 1 to April 30 for the storage and processing of official ballot documents from Comelec. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
