Pinoy Muslims mark beginning of Ramadan with prayer, fasting

Filipino Muslims marked the first day of the holy month of Ramadan with prayers on Sunday.
In a “24 Oras Weekend report on Sunday, Muslims prayed and fasted in different parts of the country including Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Iloilo, and Davao City.
Ramadan is the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, and offer prayers in line with the teachings of Islam.
In a statement, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said the Holy Month of Ramadan is a period for personal reflection and renewed commitment to faith for Muslim brothers and sisters.
