BuCor releases almost 800 inmates in February 2025

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) released a total of 793 persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in the month of February, data provided by the bureau showed.

Of this, 240 were from the New Bilibid Prison, 106 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm, 38 from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm, 49 from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), 53 from the Leyte Regional Prison, 62 from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, and an additional 169 PDLs.

Sixty-nine were from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong, six from the CIW-Mindanao, and one from the CIW-IPPF.

Meanwhile, of the 793, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said 588 were released on acquittal, maximum sentence served, parole, probation, and habeas, among others.
