DENR launches hotline for water service concerns

A hotline has been opened to speed up the resolution of water service-related concerns, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said on Friday.
In a statement, the DENR said its Water Resources Management Office’s (WRMO) “Wag Pataksaya Hotline” will assist affected consumers to get a response from their water service provider (WSP).
The WRMO is able to refer any concerns to DENR-attached agencies like Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System for Metro Manila, Water Districts for regional town services, and the National Water Resources Board for private sector WSPs.
“They can send to us any concern, from meter readings to billing issues and water interruptions, and we will follow through with their concerns until these are addressed and resolved,” said Dr. Carlos Primo David, the DENR Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science as well as the WRMO head.
David clarified that WRMO does not directly handle water-related issues nor provide direct water services or repairs but will only assist in fast-tracking the concerns reported to their office.
To file their concerns, the DENR said concerned consumers may fill out the National Water Service Online Form through the link “https://tinyurl.com/wrmohotline” with their name, address, water service provider, and issue/concern/inquiry.
Concerned consumers may also get in touch with the WRMO by sending a message to 0949-884-8927 (SMS or Viber) or email to “wrmo@denr.gov.ph.”
The WRMO is created for the integration and harmonization of all government efforts and regulatory activities to ensure availability and sustainable management of water resources in the country, according to the DENR. --Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
