Marbil to explain police use of EDSA busway — DILG's Remulla

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Wednesday that he would ask Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rommel Marbil to explain the issue as regards the use of EDSA busway.
''I will ask him... I will ask him... Again, it was news to me that nangyari 'yun [it happened. I have to confirm it with him and I will ask for an explanation,'' Remulla said at a press briefing.
Marbil earlier said some senior police officials had an emergency closed door meeting at Camp Crame Tuesday evening, which prompted the use of EDSA busway.
The PNP chief refused to confirm if the involved convoy was his due to security concerns because the plate numbers of the vehicles were shared to the public.
PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo already defended the convoy that used the EDSA busway, saying they are allowed in emergency cases.
The EDSA busway, a dedicated bus lane, serves commuters from Caloocan City up to Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in Parañaque City.
A convoy allegedly of Marbil was caught using the EDSA busway along Ortigas on Tuesday.
In the video exclusively acquired by GMA Integrated News, the police was heard requesting to let the convoy pass through since Marbil allegedly has an emergency and is going to Camp Crame in Quezon City. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
