Marcos meets with MMDA to discuss fiber optic cable network project

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. met with officials from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday to discuss improvements to the fiber optic cable network in Metro Manila.
The Metro Manila Smart City Infrastructure for Network Resilience Project aims to establish a centralized fiber optic network, directly linking the 17 Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) to the MMDA and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The project is expected to enhance emergency response times, traffic management, and real-time flood level monitoring, ensuring a more efficient and coordinated approach to urban challenges.
In addition, Marcos also met with key officials to discuss refinements to the proposed Department of Water Resources (DWR) Bill.
The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has urged the President to certify the bill as urgent to address the country’s water resource management needs. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
