Several senatorial candidates continued to hit the road to woo voters on Monday, attending an event of local executives, showing up at a basketball event, and visiting the provinces.

Pediatrician Dr. Richard Mata, a supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, said in a Facebook post on Monday that he wants to fight corruption if elected.

“Ako po ay isang Health Vlogger tumatakbong Senador. Gusto kong iprove na kaya ng manalo kahit walang gastos. Corruption can stop this way,” Mata said.

Meanwhile, reelectionist Senator Bong Go spent the day in Boracay where he was invited as a guest of honor and speaker in a gathering of local officials in the province of Negros Occidental.

On Monday night, Go went back to Manila to attend a gathering of vice mayors from all over the country.

In the event, Go condemned the shooting incident that hurt Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur Vice Mayor Datu Omar Samama.

“Kinokondena natin ang karahasan. Ang akin lang po, nakikiusap tayo sa otoridad na maimbestigahan at malaman po. Hustisya po sa mga naging biktima ng karahasan. Nakikiusap po tayo sa ating otoridad at we reiterate our call for peace and order during this time na malapit na po ang eleksyon, sa Mayo 12,” the incumbent senator said.

(We condemn violence. I’m appealing to authorities to investigate this matter. Let’s give justice to the victims of violence. I also reiterate our call for peace and order during this time when the May 12 elections are getting nearer.)

Reelectionist Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa attended the PBA Legends Basketball event in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City.
