Amihan to bring light rains over Luzon

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies and light rains to Luzon over the next 24 hours, PAGASA reported Monday afternoon.

According to the state weather bureau, these conditions will primarily affect the Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

Meanwhile, the Visayas, Caraga, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The rest of Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms and could also lead to flash floods or landslides.

PAGASA also noted that Northern Luzon will experience strong to gale-force winds, resulting in rough to very rough coastal waters.

Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in the Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
