Candidate photos, party logos in BARMM ballots -Comelec

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Monday that official ballots for the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections will include candidates’ photos and the official logos of political parties.

(The Comelec has decided that the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections ballots will include candidates' photos and political party logos for party representation in the parliament.)

Garcia also noted that a "none of the above" option will be available to voters, as mandated by the Bangsamoro Election Code.

Yan ay nasa Election Code ng Bangsamoro,” he said.

(At the very least, our citizens will have a choice if they do not want to vote for any candidate. This is stated in the Bangsamoro Election Code.)

The Comelec had postponed the printing of ballots for the BARMM parliamentary elections following a bicameral conference committee’s decision to move the polls from May 12 to October 13, 2025.

(We halted the printing of ballots for the BARMM parliamentary elections because there is a high likelihood that the enrolled bill will become law.)

If the bill rescheduling the elections to October 13 was enacted, Garcia explained that the Comelec would assess whether the current list of candidates would be retained or if a new filing of candidacy would be required.
