American who lived at NAIA departs PH -BI

The 76-year-old American man who had been living at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has left the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed on Sunday.
In a statement, the BI said the man departed for Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday.
According to airport authorities, he had been staying at NAIA Terminal 3 due to the high cost of hotel accommodations.
He arrived from Bangkok on January 31 and had been receiving food from airport workers and fellow passengers.
Reports indicate that he was a victim of theft but still had some remaining cash.
His situation was brought to the attention of the US Embassy in Manila, which facilitated assistance for him.
The BI also confirmed that the man did not overstay in the Philippines. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
